The glass used to suck the water, several times a day and from different sources, is an indispensable accessory for the curator and will be honoured in this exhibition. Its cousin, the souvenir glass, often decorated, always well cared for, sometimes a rare object, a testimony to the stay in the spa, will keep company. The other spa accessories, such as the cases for transporting the glasses, will also be highlighted. Thanks to private collectors who have collected glasses from all over Europe, rare pieces, even unique, and to the collections of the Museum of the City of Waters, an original part of thermalism will be evoked, as well as a forgotten work, that of the water donors. These women, who ensured cleanliness, hygiene of consumption, who were mediators between doctors and healthy waters, who listened to patients, were for them the most concrete face of healing and sometimes their confidants...

Discover the superb collections related to the history of Spa

Located in the former Royal Villa, residence of Queen Marie-Henriette, the Museums of the spa town welcome you to discover the beautiful collections related to the history of Spa: a magnificent collection of “Jolités” or Spa wood, from the 17th century to the present day, as well as various objects evoking the activity of our famous spa town.

Discover the permanent exhibition of the exceptional equestrian history of Spa in the former stables of the queen.

From 03 January 2023, we will be open every day until the end of December, from 1pm to 5pm.

The Museums of the Water City are an absolute ‘must-see’ during a visit to Spa, where amazing discoveries are presented. The history of the famous spa town, candidate for the “Great Spas of Europe” at UNESCO, an annual exhibition with rich and varied themes, as well as the visit to the Museum of the Horse. You are wondering!? Surprise … this museum located in the old stables has a thousand reasons to exist!
