Gaumais Museum

The Gaume of yesterday and today.

The Gaumais Museum reveals the cultural identity of this land of Between Semois and Chiers, valuing the tremendous human, natural, industrial and artistic resources of the Gaume of yesterday and today.

The Museum was first installed in 1939 in a remnant of the Récollets convent and later enlarged, in 1990, with a contemporary wing and soon endowed with an independent gallery. It combines archeology, fine arts, civil and religious ethnography, industrial and popular arts, regional furniture, in so many approaches to this singular country, which shares many characters with the French Lorraine region.
