La Barbastelle

With or without the combined visit of the caves of Goyet, the menu of the Barbastelle restaurant surprises with unpublished historical dishes allowing you to live an original culinary experience. In the dining room or on the terrace nestled in a bucolic setting, the historian chef of gastronomy Pierre Leclercq offers original dishes from collections of ancient recipes.

Every day, enjoy the Cro-Magnon lunch (9 €): cereal bread, a piece of smoked ham, fresh goat cheese, dried fruit, fruit syrup and arugula in season. Simply good and on top prehisto-compatible.

All these ingredients could have been consumed by our ancestors. The plus is to enjoy his meal with a real knife in flint. In terms of taste, we rely on the know-how of local artisans who provide us with delicious products.

Program: Follow the path of the water that shaped the caves and their concretions. An archaeologist takes you on a discovery of the man’s journey, where Cro-Magnon and Neanderthal lived. Thanks to reconstructions of archaeological objects and the observation of traces still visible, you become aware of the prestigious archaeological site that are the caves of Goyet. At the end of one of the most beautiful underground courses in Wallonia, extend the enchantment on the terrace surrounded by nature by participating in the lighting of a fire.
