Exhibition “Archetype Canon”

09/04/2022 h 24/07/2022 F Rajouter au calendrier 2022-04-09 2022-07-24 Europe/London Exhibition “Archetype Canon”

This exhibition is a kind of feminist pamphlet, a meeting between the works of women artists in the CGII's collections and those of Delphine Deguislage. The artist in residence stages an ambiguous space, where the domestic sphere meets the public space. The gestures of the home and the handmade, imperfect and familial, collide with the violent and mediatic images of magazines. Digital collages, textile creations, sculptures and engravings rub shoulders to reflect, through the prism of gender, the modes of representation of bodies, desire and social practices.

In the framework of the project Un futur pour la culture supported by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles and based on an invitation by Emmanuel Lambion.

The many facets of contemporary printmaking

40 minutes from Brussels, the Center of Engraving shows the many facets of contemporary printmaking.

Lovers, collectors, students, families, … each public can learn to print via original activities designed in close collaboration with the artists.

For each exhibition, different activities are designed to welcome families with children: the barda-games and its game route, texts at the height of children, the “discovery corner” at the reception, …

A living and moving museum installed rue des Amours in 88, totally renovated and enlarged in 2010!

OGroups

The Center of Engraving invites groups to discover the many facets of the printed image. For each exhibition, an active tour, a game route, a creative workshop – of your choice and ‘à la carte’.
A wonderful tool: 7 educational kits, 7 themes, 7 ways to approach contemporary print art, with a playful, dynamic, pictorial and interactive approach! Tools, matrices, original works, theoretical fact sheets, games and animations form the pedagogical baggage of this material usable in the museum, in the classroom or in the workplace.

LPeople with specific needs

The Engraving Center was very concerned about the reception of the global public and, thanks to the enlargement of 2011, has provided for a better reception of people with reduced mobility, both in terms of mobility and access to the toilets.
In addition to this infrastructure improvement, the educational service welcomes all groups and adjusts visits and workshops. A special welcome is reserved for the hearing impaired thanks to a sign language tour (reservation of the guide is mandatory).
