Discovering the history of stone and marble

The marble museum changed its name and is now called MagMa (Museum Workshop Geology & Marble). The Museum is located in the Boot of the Hainaut and lets you discover stone and marble. Let’s go into the exciting world of rocks: geology, paleontology, changes in the techniques of extraction, sculpture, processing, a showroom and a marmotheque rich in colors. And brand new: a room for children, a laboratory to learn everything about the Earth Sciences (volcanoes, earthquakes, fossils …)!
Plan this experience with your family.

OGroups

Nestled in lush greenery, the village of Rance is an ancient marble city that invites you to visit the Marble Museum, today called MagMa. Here you can get acquainted with Belgian and foreign marble in one hour. You will discover the many uses of this material that adorned the most beautiful buildings in Europe and that will still surprise you today in unexpected implementations. A guided walk (1h30) in the village takes you in the footsteps of the old marble workers, their history, their life and their work. By reservation!
