An essential cultural site on the backdrop of industrial heritage – UNESCO World Heritage

Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and labeled as a European Heritage Site, the Bois du Cazier is a must-visit cultural site with an industrial heritage background.

Nestled in lush greenery, this architectural ensemble, crowned by two wheel frames, is surrounded by three heaps suitable for walks.

A museum tour devoted to charcoal, steel and glass is available in three locations: Space August 8, 1956, the Museum of Industry and the Museum of Glass.
