Steam-Powered Brewery of Pipaix

The last steam-powered brewery in the world, located in Pipaix in Hainaut, produces traditional and natural craft beers, refermented in bottles and non-pasteurised with 19th century equipment.
The old Biset brewery, founded in 1785, was bought by Jean-Louis Dits in 1984 and brought back to life just two months later! The know-how of brewing beer “à la vapeur” has been preserved ever since. Several craft beers are still sold. Most of the equipment and machines used are unique in Belgium.

Since 2020, the Pipaix Steam Brewery is part of Wallonia’s protected heritage.
