Museum of Fine Arts of Charleroi (MBArts) = reopening 17/12/2022!
The MBArts bears witness to the artistic endeavour of Charleroi and the surrounding area, more widely Wallonia as a whole, both past – 19th and 20th centuries – and present. The museum is also interested in contemporary artists who, in one way of another, evoke this area and the main social and human issues of our time. The collection thus built up brings together national and international movement in the history of art, including Neoclassicism, Romantism, Orientalism and Realism as well Neo and Post-Impressionnism, Abstraction, Surrealism and Contemporary Art.
Groups
The Museum will accompany you in the major stages in History and the History of Art, both local and Belgian, contemporary art, and suggest lines of tought on the position of human beings in society.
