The "Marais house"

The “Maison du Marais” offers visitors a dive into the life of Vincent van Gogh during his stay in the Borinage, from December 1878 to October 1880.

It is in these walls that van Gogh, as an autodidact, took his first steps on the path of art. Do not miss: the reproductions of his works made during his visit but also his literary preferences, his epistolary exchange and the room furnished with period furniture.

JSchools

To encourage exchanges between the museum and the school about their shared educational role, Maison van Gogh offers guided tours adapted to each grade (in French or in foreign languages). To prepare you as well as possible for visits, access to the museum is free for teachers.

OGroups

The van Gogh House offers special rates for groups (from 10 people) and guided tours in French or in foreign languages. A bus discovery of the various places Vincent van Gogh visited during his stay in the Borinage is also possible.

KFamilies

Where are your pencils? Just like Vincent van Gogh, try to draw everyday objects or play with colors.

LPeople with specific needs

A lower info desk, adapted toilets, parking spaces at the entrance … make the van Gogh House accessible to a larger number.
