Artistic collections of the University of Liège

Located in the heart of the Cité ardente, the University of Liège retains an important artistic heritage of more than 60,000 works (prints, drawings, paintings, sculptures, coins, African art objects, photographs …). These pieces can be seen in certain exhibitions at the Wittert Museum, but are also available to students and researchers. Major artists include Dürer, Bruegel, Rembrandt, Rops, Ensor, Magritte …

Since 2018, a new layout of spaces has allowed the creation of a “mobile” cabinet that houses a semi-permanent exhibition offering the look at the “wonders and curiosities” of the museum. Several times a year, it gives way to a temporary exhibition that highlights a theme, an event, an artist …
