The mine tile is coiled in a green environment of 25 ha divided over three slag heaps. The requalification project made it possible to develop these spaces in places of discovery and relaxation. The first, and also the oldest, is a flat pile, easy to reach from where you can discover the coal mine from a new angle. The second, on which the open-air theater is based, is accessible via the memory strike planted with 12 types of trees from the countries of origin of the victims of the tragedy of August 8, 1956. To reach the third slag heap, the highest, conical in shape, take an amazing wooden and metal walkway overlooking rue de la Gare. At the top of the landscape observatory, at an altitude of nearly 250 meters, you have a 360 ° view of an incomparable panorama of the entire region.
An orientation course has also been set up, in which the participants use a map to search for numbered positions spread across the old coal mine and the three adjacent heaps. In the “star race” they will receive a 3-4 position track, after which they will return to the starting point to receive a new challenge until the end of the allotted time.
