Municipal Museum of Archeology, Art and History of Nivelles

An impressive collection related to the history of Nivelles

The Municipal Museum is housed in the former refuge of the Trinitarians of Orival, a large listed building erected in 1764. It is a home to impressive collections related to the history of Nivelles: Gothic sculptures from the collegiate, paintings of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, antique furniture, musical instruments, weapons, and above all, a remarkable set of sculptures and terracotta projects by the sculptor Laurent Delvaux (1696-1778).

The second floor presents the archaeological objects that testify to the occupation of the region from the Paleolithic to the Gallo-Roman era.
