Park of Furfooz

The Park of Furfooz invites you to discover the archaeological, natural, geological heritage through a walk of about 4 km that winds over 15 remarkable elements of the park. The Furfooz massif is an uninterrupted occupation from the primeval times to the Middle Ages. Indeed, the Lesse has carved and dug on the rocky massif, thus providing a large number of caves … occupied by humans for millennia. Numerous objects were found that allow the occupation of the building to be traced. A fortress and thermal baths date from the Roman era.

The Furfooz massif has been continuously occupied from prehistoric times (caves) to medieval times (plateau). Indeed, over time, the Lesse has dug all the rock mass leaving many caverns, caves, … These have been occupied by man for millennia. Many objects were discovered allowing to trace the occupation of the place over time.
